The Dragon Gate roster gathered to open their first show since the Toryumon split.

The Open Gate Tour is the very first tour of Dragon Gate shows. It would mark the official debut of the promotion following the split with Ultimo Dragon and the Toryumon promotions. The tour ran over the course of 24 nights from July 10, 2004 to August 29, 2004. Matches from these shows would be featured in the first three episodes of Dragon Gate Infinity on Gaora Network and two of the events would air live on pay-per-view through Battle Station.

The match between Magnum TOKYO and Naoki Tanizaki was the first match in the Naoki Tanizaki Road to Do FIXER - Surfing 10 Match Series.

The 2-on-1 Handicap Match, the Surfing Series Match, and the main event six-man tag team match would be featured in the first episode of Dragon Gate Infinity.
