Shenlongtrial

Super Shenlong II often fought Super Shisa and others multiple times in order to reach 50 matches.

The Super Shenlong 50 Match Trial Series is a fifty-match trial series Super Shenlong II undertook in Dragon Gate from October 2008 through May 2011.

Overview

Seemingly inspired by the success Akira Tozawa achieved when he underwent his seven-match diet series, Super Shenlong made the bold statement that he wanted to partake in a fifty match series. Whether he was actually joking or not, his wish was granted. Thus began a wild, bizarre journey that would take over two and a half years to complete.

The matches took place literally all over the map. From regular tours to dark matches to Dragon Gate NEX to independent performances such as Buyuden. One match was even for a championship when Turboman defended the Mexico City Welterweight Championship against Shenlong. The finale took place in Shenlong's hometown of Toki, Gifu. In the end, however, it seemed that it was all for naught.

Shenlong managed to achieve one victory and one draw throughout the series. Furthermore, his performance evaluation resulted in a lack of improvement in rank or perception. Shenlong continued to go nowhere for a year before snapping and transforming into Mondai Ryu and joining MAD BLANKEY. But even then he still remained at the same position he had been all his career.
